With the help of Edita we put together a sensory morning with local Rickmansworth Day centre clients and support staff.

With the gate closed behind us the new Community Orchard became a calm, fun and above all safe space to be.

The freedom to see, feel, smell, taste and example the fruit that we will ONE DAY pick from our own trees. We checked on the apple tree that some of the team had originally planted and watered the others that have survived despite the brutal summer. We felt the deep satisfaction of gently easing the first carrots out of the ground. Smelling those felt good. They smelt LIKE carrots – you remember that?
This is a space that will give and give and help us all to grow.
